“Me and Rob would just like to thank everyone who made it special last year and to Lauren for all her hard work. The food was amazing the whole day was just perfect everyone complimented on how lovely the venue was and the food was everything I could of asked for. The Room was great my bridesmaid loved staying the night before it was lovely and clean and the staff very friendly.
I would also like to thank the restaurant staff for Saturday the service was fantastic and the staff were all lovely and polite and very helpful. The meal was fantastic we enjoyed our weekend very much and we would just like to pass on our gratitude to everyone.”

Wedding Reviews
The couple had looked at venues on the internet, but after Emma's hairdresser suggested they check out the Oaklands, there was nowhere that came close.
“We live in Dereham but love the Thorpe St Andrew area, so when we realised that was where the Oaklands Hotel is, it really clinched it for us” says Emma, adding that they booked the date of their wedding on their first visit.
“I think the Oaklands marquee is perfect for a wedding because it gives you a blank canvas to decorate to suit your theme. We had a colour scheme of lemon yellow and gold, which Lauren (the Oaklands wedding planner) was able to match in the sashes over the seat covers, plus we had table gems, napkin rings and flowers which followed the same scheme.”
Thanks to a tip from a helpful hairdresser, Emma and Alex found the venue of their dreams in the Oaklands Hotel.

“We would like to thank you and all your staff for making my daughter's wedding day so special.
The day was wonderful, made extra special by your staff's attention to detail. We all had reservations as you do on such a big occasions. Totally unnecessary, everything went without a hitch.
Ceremony started on time as arranged. We were called to sit down for our meal at the time specified. The buffet was delivered as stated. The food was amazing, plenty of it on all three courses. Specials for those with dietary needs. Buffet was amazing the choice much more than ever anticipated.
A great day and many happy memories made for us all.”

“We stayed at The Oaklands in late October. We had a day booked at the Bannatyne Spa which is a 5 minute drive from the hotel. We arrived late on Saturday night and although there was a busy wedding in the function room we were checked in immediately and with a smile! There was a notice to say there would be music playing until midnight - we were in a first floor room above reception area and we could not hear the music! The staff were very efficiet and helpful, the bought a menu up to our room upon request and we then ordered room service - it came within 20 minutes piping hot and very tasty.
Included in the en suite was a jacuzzi bubble bath - this was very enjoyable after a long drive! the only downfall was that it was quite loud and we could make out when others had their jacuzzi bubbles turned on! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedding was so soft! breakfast in the morning was the best fry up Ive ever had! overall excellet experience and would definately reccommend and stay again.”

“Stayed at the Oaklands for one night and having read some poor reviews (they
are mostly a few years old and predate a recent refurb) I was not expecting to be
impressed.
Well I was.
Efficient check in - there were four people in front of the reception lady and she
dealt with them in short order whereas I hade been expecting a twenty minute wait.
The Lodge we stayed was very spacious, modern and spotless. Breakfast was of a good
quality and buffet served.”

“I am really surprised by the previous poor reviews. We stayed at the Oaklands last weekend and couldn't really fault it. We were greated by a smiling face and found the staff were friendly and helpful, the double room we stayed in was a good size, comfy bed – the decor matched the country house style that the Oaklands is. We had carvery for dinner which was lovely. We did have to wait a few minutes for a drink at the bar but they were busy which was fine - bar lady apologised for the wait and got our drinks. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be going back.”
